Product Details
The Lifelines Flat Top Ring takes the most loved men’s ring and personalises it in the most individual way. The Lifelines impression you send us will be carefully inlayed flat across the top of a comfort fit band and then shaped into a rectangle. It keeps its classic shape while featuring your unique impression.
Each Lifelines created is the immortalisation of the most personal identifier we humans have. We embrace this uniqueness in the creation of your Lifelines jewellery. We do this by maintaining the organic nature of the wax impressions as we shape it into your ring or necklace. This means that your impression will be modified as minimal as possible and the outcome will look exactly like your wax impression. However we can customise the style of your jewellery upon request, please contact us to discuss your customisation.
Lifelines Kit
When you place an order for a piece of Lifelines jewellery, we send you out a kit containing everything you need to take your print, right at home. The kit allows you to have as many attempts at taking a print as you like and send back your three best impressions. You will also receive a ring sizer within the kit to record your size on the card within the box. Feel free to contact us to confirm your size if you require as fee's and delays will occur if resizing is required.
A special note about age, children in particular under 12 months of age do not always have a defined fingerprint or their skin may be too soft for the print to transfer onto wax. We have had success with some children under 1, however it is dependent on the individual child.

General FAQ
How are Lifelines jewellery pieces created?
Here at Son Del Sol we have the privelage of manufacturing using the aincent technique of lost wax casting. To make Lifelines jewellery, your wax fingerprint is either set alone or attched to your wax ring model in a special kind of plaster that captures the intricate details of your print. Then th wax is melted out and liquid gold or silver fills the cavity of your piece, creating your Lifelines jewellery.
Can you make Lifelines from ink prints?
Unfortunately the Lifelines process requires a genuine impression captured in wax for us to turn them into jewellery. We can however laser engrave your ink print onto jewellery which creates diferent but beautifully sentimental jewellery. Head to our bespoke page to talk to us about creating jewellery from an ink print.
Can you give the Lifelines Kit as a gift?
Yes the Lifelines kit can be purchased individually and sent as a gift. If you would like the Lifelines kit to be sent directly to someone else, please set thier address as your shipping address.
Can I get Lifelines jewellery made from a babies print?
Whilst an impression is possble regardless of the age, children in particular under 12 months of age do not always have a defined fingerprint or their skin may be too soft for the print to transfer onto wax. We have had success with some children under 1, however it is dependent on the individual child. You can still cast the outline or impression of an infants print if you wish. The sentiment behind the print is still beatiful.

The Perfect Print
Get some practice
Before you take your prints that will be returned, get some practice attempts in. The wax is reusable so you can take impressions repeatedly until you are happy with the quality of prints you are capturing.
Capturing the perfect print
Capturing the perfect print is a creative and fun process. Above is an example of what in our opinion, an excellent print looks like. What makes us think this is an excellent print is the deep definable texture of the lines that make up our finger print. Although we believe prints like this are optimal, prints that are more subtle and less defined as this example, still cast into beautiful Lifelines Jewellery. If you can see any lines in the wax, they will be visible in precious metal.
Double Sided Prints
How do I order a double sided Lifelines Pendant?
If you would like to create a double sided print you just order the pendant size and metal you would like. There is no extra cost
How do I capture a double sided print?
To make a double sided print you will need to press your fingers into either side of the wax at the same time from each side, pushing up against each other.
Try to position them in the same spot on either side so that you can achieve a wall around the print on both sides. Also be sure to pull away from the wax very slowly to avoid changing the shape of the wax. If you don't like the shape once you pull away you are best to roll out back up and try again.
Capturing a double sided print
Heat the wax and roll into a ball. Place the ball between each of the fingers, ideally in the same position on both fingers.
Capturing a double sided print
Press together with equal pressure from both fingers while the wax is warm. Peel fingers off gently touching only the sides of the print and place into container.
Pet Prints
Can I get Lifelines Jewellery made from my pets print?
Yes you can capture wonderful prints from your pets. We have done many dog and cat’s noses, as well as paw prints. They come up really well if you can get a deep enough impression.
How do I capture my pets nose print?
The process is exactly the same as taking a human print. If your pet has a moist nose when you are about to take the print, drying it with paper towel first will assist in capturing a more detailed print.
Loved Ones Recently Lost
Can I get a print from someone that has recently passed away?
Yes! We have done so many times before. We are even able to liase directly with Funeral Homes to help them capture prints. We do so with utmost respect as we underdstand it is the last opportunity to capture a unique part of them for you to keep forever.
