Warranty
We stand behind the quality of our jewellery and acknowledge all items will be free from manufacturing defects for the life of our product. If you believe your item has a manufacturing defect, you may return your item for inspection by our jewellers. We will repair or replace any items that are deemed to have any kind of manufacturing defect. If we determine that any damage incurred was not due to a manufacturing defect, then you will be made aware of our repair services at an additional charge. Lifelines fall under their own warranty agreement due to the organic method of manufacturing we use.
Damage
We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and our quality control procedures. Thus, in the extremely rare case of an item requiring a repair, we will assess it on a case-by-case basis. Please understand that despite the utmost care being taken, wear and tear is a part of life. Your pieces will subtly change over time as they are made of precious, malleable metals and natural stones. Thus, wear and tear from everyday life does not constitute or warrant our repair services. Son of the Sol cannot accept any liability from damage caused by normal wear over time. Some examples of common jewellery issues that are not considered as manufacturing faults are: bent, caught or worn out claws, causing stones to loosen or fall out (due to normal wear or other damage.); Discolouration due to oxidisation or by exposure to chemicals such as chlorine or selfcare products. If things like these do occur, get in touch and we can make suggestions for keeping your custom piece in top condition.
Son of the Sol source all chains via a premier Italian chain supplier. These chains go through extensive quality control measures before reaching you, however, due to their delicate nature, it is important all chains are worn with care in mind. As these chains are sourced via a third party, they don’t fall under the same guarantee as our other pieces. If you do require your chain to be repaired, this will be assessed on a case by case basis. Please email us at info@sonofthesol.com with images of your damaged chain and we will liaise with you on the best course of action.
Lifelines Collection
The organic beauty of our Lifelines Collection lies in the uniqueness and variation of each print we have the privilege of working on. Every print will differ in pattern, depth and definition, particularly for young ones and the elderly. Despite providing our best advice and instruction, the onus on obtaining a clear and legible print is up to you. We reserve the right to reject any prints that are unclear or taken improperly and will offer the opportunity to retake the impression where possible. The cost of additional impression kits are the responsibility of the client, including any international shipping charges required. This is an incredibly individualised process and as such there are variables beyond our control. Providing you follow the instructions properly and take a clear impression, this will maximise the clarity of the fingerprint impression. The natural undulations of fingerprints, can impact the fluid mechanics of molten metal which can lead to micro-porosity or pitting on the impression jewellery. Whilst we mitigate this as best as possible, this is not considered a manufacturing fault and is inherent with this style of design. When obtaining an impression of a child’s fingerprint, we have found that best practice is taking a print from a child who is at least 1 year old. It is possible to obtain an impression from a younger child, however we want to make sure that your little one’s fingerprints are developed enough to create a defined impression mould that you absolutely love. Therefore, Son of the Sol has full discretion to recommend either to proceed with the impression print or to wait longer for the child’s prints to develop further.

General FAQ
How long will my order take?
Each order is handmade or finished in our Kiama studio, this means that every individual item has a different production time. The current approximate wait time is 6 weeks however this regularly fluctuates. Please enquire for specific items production times.
Do you do remodelling?
We do currently offer remodelling. Remodelling your existing jewellery falls under the same service as our Bespoke jewellery. Please enquire through our Bespoke contact form for remodelling. It is important to remember that we take no responsibilty for customer supplied stones or material certification or quality.
Where are you located?
Our manufactureing studio is located in Kiama Downs, on the South Coast of NSW.
How do I find the correct ring size?
You can visit our Kiama Studio, and our team will be more than happy to assist. If you are unable to visit us, being professionally sized by your local jeweller is always a good option where possible - just ensure to be given a size in Australian sizing, as well as an inside diameter measurement of the ring sizer - as these tools can vary between jewellers.
Always remember that your hands will be different sizes, so a ring that fits your right-hand ring finger, may not always fit your left hand.
What happens if I ordered the wrong ring size?
Depending on the design, most of our pieces are able to be resized within a certain range. Even in the case that a resize is impossible, there are options available to accommodate the necessary changes. If you have received your ring and you have ordered the incorrect size, the first thing to do is to establish your correct ring size in Australian standard sizing, either by visiting us or a local jeweller. Once you have this, contact our studio team to organise how best to resize your ring to fit.
